- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Love the place! Been many times, keep coming back for more. Fruit quality is well above store quality, and you get to taste before you buy (on the tractor ride). Never had a bad experience in the dozen or so times we have been. Keep in mind that fruit is seasonal, so pick your timing to get the best fruit! Cafe food is delicious, try the country style pies, we love them!By James Booker, March 02, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Great visit with the kids in February. Lots of fruit: mainly peaches, plums, apricots. Tractor ride is good fun and we all enjoyed the outing. At $28 per person the price adds up if you're a family but I think it was free for children under five and you don't pay for what you eat on the tour; what you take with you is $5/kg.By Peter Skands, February 04, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Overall it was disappointing, I had been wanting to go for some time as we grow fruit in our home garden and are always interested in different varieties. The tractor ride was $28 per person so we gave that a miss. We had lunch at the cafe and while the food was very good there is an extremely limited range, it isn't inexpensive and the service was terrible - they forgot to bring a knife with the devonshire tea and when I went to the counter to ask for one the waitress said 'try not to stab anyone' - so not appropriate. Generally we felt like it was one big drag for them to have to serve you. The chairs are really uncomfortable and the food was almost thrown down. We had a look around the large area of plants for sale but they were generally not in very good shape with many labels so faded you couldn't read them and quite a bit of leaf curl on the foliage. We asked a young man what varieties of peaches they had for sale at the shop and he said they had yellow and white - this was not the type of information we were seeking. We went back to the shop and bought some peaches at $5 for a punnet and they are very good. They had a bowl of figs near the shop counter and when I asked what variety they were the staff had no idea (there were different varieties of figs in the bowl). The idea behind Rayners Orchard is fantastic and it could be done so well - but it isn't. Maybe they are raking in so much money that they don't need to run it well. I wish I had read some reviews before we went because for us it was a wasted trip. I particularly feel that $28 for the tractor ride of the farm is too steep when you aren't told in advance what you are getting and we are glad we didn't do it. Their website mentions all the fruits that are currently in season but they only had peaches, nectarines and plums for sale. We have more than that at home.By Mike Brooks, September 11, 2016
